and open the work's textures and colors… |
| His
recent works are the result of a process that stemmed from an academic
structure and developed into abstractions that now identify him. The
plastic language of Arturo Hinojos is made up of elements, signs and
symbols that arrive brilliantly at abstraction. Transparencies, lines,
colors, planes, sequential images become simplified, flowing into
a unique and poetic figure. |

paint, therefore I am. |
| Every
stroke is a letter, every set of strokes a word articulated in endless
series, creating a discourse and communicating my experience and feelings
in a constant sharing through color, textures, composition, and movement. |
| This
discipline depicts my most profound inner self. It is the result of
being in contact with myself and provides me with the possibility
of communicating in multiple and infinite ways. Thus, each spectator
can read something in my work and interpret it according to his or
her interests and sensibility. |

Arturo was born in Mexico
City, Mexico, on February 28, 1944. He studied art at the prestigious National
School of Plastic Arts from 1961-1965.
